Spacecase the band formed in 2014 with a goal to create “original rock” in a small Virginia mountain town. While the area was full of talented Bluegrass, Folk, and cover bands, it did seem to be lacking in the rock/alternative department.
This power trio consisting of Matt “Bear” (Guitar and Vocals), Neil Bland or “Lupus” (Drums) and Jake Gentry (Bass) found common ground in the music writing process with influences from bands like Clutch, Rush, and Tool to name a few.
By December of 2017 Spacecase had scraped up enough money playing various live shows in Lexington, Clifton Forge, Roanoke, Staunton, Charlottesville, and Greensboro, NC to record a proper EP at Blue Sprocket Sound in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Thanks to the efforts of their good friend and producer Graham Spice, Spacecase left the studio with seven songs.
The new EP titled “81118” was named for its release date 8/11/2018. The seven songs represent the best of the last four years of hard work and creativity from three guys with full-time jobs and families trying to create something memorable not only for fans of good rock music but for themselves.
With a great sounding EP under their belts and live shows throughout the last four years, Spacecase is hoping to make a bigger splash in the latter half of 2018 and beyond.
